Dual-action exfoliator for salon-worthy skin: NEW Vitamin C Microdermabrasion

Dual-action exfoliator for salon-worthy skin: NEW Vitamin C Microdermabrasion

If you’ve heard of microdermabrasion, chances are it’s in the context of a beauty salon, with an expensive machine and a licensed professional. And you’d be right! Historically, microdermabrasion has been a service offered by beauty therapists and what it is, is precision ‘sandblasting’ (exfoliating) of the skin for about 30 – 45 minutes to remove the top layer of skin. It’s popular for helping to reduce scarring, hyperpigmentation, and stretch marks. Sounds pretty good, right? Or maybe good but a touch inconvenient. Enter Vitamin C Microdermabrasion. We’re bringing our own microdermabrasion to your bathroom shelf, to get that glowing, smooth ‘just had a facial’ look but without needing to leave the house.

Introducing Vitamin C Microdermabrasion

The first thing you need to know about this super exfoliating product is that it’s dual action. Soft and whipped in texture, this formula combines both natural chemical exfoliation with physical exfoliation which means while you’re sloughing away dead skin, you’re also getting the benefit of five natural AHAs which help to unclog pores, even out skintone, and minimise fine lines.

To really take things to the next level, we’ve also added some antioxidising, skin-brightening vitamin C to the mix to help erase signs of hyperpigmentation and slow signs of ageing.

The ingredients

Vitamin C Microdermabrasion is a wash-off mousse-like cream made up of three key ingredients that make it such a powerful addition to your routine.

1. Pumice

Mineral-rich, finely milled pumice powder is what gives this cream its microdermabrasion action, and its subtly gritty feeling. Naturally exfoliating, it polishes without damaging and, in removing those fine dead layers of skin, promotes a smoother, more youthful complexion.

2. Vitamin C

A powerhouse in skin brightening, vitamin C is also anti-inflammatory, an antioxidant, and helps protect skin from sun damage (you still need SPF!). This means when we use vitamin C as a regular part of our routine, we can expect a more even skintone and less redness.

3. Our blend of 5 AHAs

Specifically for the new Vitamin C Microdermabrasion, we have created a unique blend of 5 powerful AHAs.

We’ve written a bit on AHAs before because we know it can be hard to keep straight the difference between all the acids. But here's a breakdown of what our unique AHA blend is, and what each specifically do:

Lactic acid: Slows skin thinning.

Glycolic acid: Sloughs off dead cells and increases collagen and hyaluronic acid production.

Citric acid: Aids chemical exfoliation.

Malic and tartaric acids: Support facial toning by improving elasticity.

When should I use it?

Traditional microdermabrasion can only be done once every one to two months, but we’ve designed ours to be used two to three times a week.

As with all skincare, it will be unique to the individual and will depend on what your skin best responds to so, as always, start slow and build up to what feels comfortable. You can learn more about this here.

How should I use it?

Apply to warm, cleaned skin and gently massage to activate the pumice. Leave for approximately 3 minutes for the AHAs to do their magic, then thoroughly rinse off.
