Trilogy became a certified carbon neutral skincare company in late 2007. Since then, Trilogy has continued to work to reduce our carbon emissions and purchased offsets for the carbon we produce in our corporate operations.
This has helped us more closely align our day-to-day business practices with our mission for ethical, environmental and cultural responsibility.
Our performance in this area of environmental sustainability is summarised in the process outlined below, undertaken to achieve carbon neutral status for our corporate operations.
We do not claim that any individual products in our range are carbon neutral.
Trilogy's carbon offset for this period is achieved by the purchase of verified emission reduction credits (VER'S) from the Palmerston North City Council's Awapuni Landfill Gas Project through Carbon Market Solutions. The project captures methane from the landfill at Awapuni located in the city of Palmerston North in New Zealand.
The Awapuni Landfill Gas Project is an approved project under the Projects to Reduce Emissions (PRE) Mechanism of the New Zealand Government.
The VER's purchased by Trilogy in this project were then retired (units must be retired to offset emissions) and can be viewed at www.markit.com.
