SO THEY CAN

So They Can is an Australasian not-for-profit working to educate and empower communities in Kenya and Tanzania. We’ve created two unique limited edition natural perfumes over the past two years, Jua and Raha, using sunflower oil hand-harvested by women working in one of So They Can’s social businesses.

We chose to work with So They Can because they work holistically, helping women and their children towards self-sufficiency, not through hand-outs, but through sustainable enterprise.

When you shop on this website, we’ll donate NZD$1 for every product you buy to So They Can. It’s just one way you can make a difference – by choosing Trilogy, you’re improving the lives of women and children in Tanzania and Kenya every time you check out. The African philosophy of Ubuntu, expresses this perfectly: “We are who we are because of our connection to others. And this is what makes us happy.”

*Until 31 August 2016

Trilogy is sending four employees to Kenya to meet the people behind So They Can and the communities they’ve built. They’re running the Maasai Mara half marathon through the national game park as a way to individually fundraise for So They Can. Make sure you’ve liked our Facebook page to follow the story or make a donation here.

One of So They Can’s projects in Tanzania teaches women efficient farming practices to help turn their sunflower seeds into a sustainable business. Raha uses this same cold-pressed, hand-harvested sunflower oil as its base. Trilogy has given $50,000 so far, paying for 100 women’s annual incomes, a full year’s education for 500 children and immeasurable benefits for the community surrounding them.

Raha means ‘joy’ in Swahili.  Our inspiration for the fragrance was the warm African rain which brings joy, growth and survival. This refreshing fragrance evokes a feeling of revitalising rain with crisp citrus top notes balanced with floral blue iris, warm vanilla and subtle spice undertones. When you buy Raha, you create a connection to these amazingly determined women and their families. Not only does Raha smell good, makes you feel good and actually does good too!
